Carl Butler & Pearl - The Old & The New

Yet another great album cover showing Carl and Pearl together this time in matching Nudie suits. More than likely, (although I am not sure) this picture was taken at their ranch, appropriately named "Crossover Acres" after their only number one hit, "Don't Let Me Cross Over".

Songs on this LP include:

Side One:
Only When I Smile
Oh, So Many Years
Little By Little
On The Banks Of The Old Pontchartrain
Too Late To Try Again
Ashamed To Own The Blessed Saviour

Side Two:
We'd Destroy Each Other
Make Me An Offer
Just A Faded Petal From A Beautiful Bouquet
If You Were Her And He Was Me
Curtain In The Window
We're Living In The Last Days Now

This LP was issued in 1965 by Columbia Records and the song, Too Late To Try Again made it to number 9 on the charts ! This LP also contains two gospel numbers, "Ashamed To Own The Blessed Saviour" and " We're Living In The Last Days Now".

My personal favorites on this LP are "Too Late To Try Again" and "We'd Destroy Each Other". Carl wrote "Too Late To Try Again".
